I have stayed in many hotels in Mexico City and my second time in Camino Real Polanco, Mexico City. Before going to the real travel reviews let me give you some of the hotel background.

The Camino Real, Polanco mixes design and architectural elements of Mexican culture. The common areas and rooms are decorated in Mexico’s vibrant pinks, blues, yellows and natural wood that make a great combination in the décor. If you are into architecture, you can appreciate Ricardo Legorretta’s design. I personally like it, I found it spacious and cozy at the same time, but maybe not for everyone, at your arrival you might find the hotel lay-out a bit confusing.

What makes this hotel highlight from many other five star hote, is the great variety of international and famous restaurants located inside the hotel. For me these restaurants make a huge complement to my stay, either if you are going for business or for pleasure, you could consider having a romantic dinner in this hotel.

Location

The hotel is located in the Polanco area, behind the Chapultepec Park, near the Tamayo and Modern Art Museums, where you want walk nearby Chic shops and gourmet restaurants.

Adress: Mariano Escobedo 700 Colonia Nueva Anzures, 11590 Mexico City

Rooms

The first time I stayed in this hotel, the room was magnificent, it had a balcony with a view to the pool. But my last stay, unfortunately it wasn’t like my first experience, they gave me a room with a street view that doesn’t compare to the main patio, the bed was very uncomfortable, you could hear the noise from the street and the furniture was dated. I think it’s kind to find bottled water in your room specialty if it’s a high quality hotel. My recommendation is; stay in the pool side rooms which seems to best choice.

Service

All the employees have great attitude towards you, they all smile to you and seen if they can help you with something.

Hotel Restaurants

Camino Real Polanco, has many bars and international restaurants that really complement your stay. Here are some short restaurant reviews of a couple.

Bice - Bistro

Bice is an Italian bistro, the same restaurant as the NYC Bice Bistro - This bistro has a sophisticated look, soft light and mahogany floors. Believe it or not this Restaurant is 24 hour open, so any time you feel for having a delicious Italian cuisine, will take you 3 min from your room.

Cuisine: American

Zone: Polanco (Inside Camino Real Polanco)

Phone: 52277200 (018009012300)

Price range: $20-80

China Grill

The same famous restaurant that is in New York, Las Vegas and Miami. The ambience of this restaurant is great, the upbeat, energetic ambience is complemented by modern music, cultural surroundings and a creative menu. Don’t forget to try the great martinis.

Cuisine: Asian, Chinese, International

Zone: Polanco (Inside Camino Real Polanco)

Phone: 5263-8888 (018009012300)

Price range: $10-80

For reservations : 555-263-8887

Le cirque

The whole design of Le Cirque in Mexico belongs to architect and interior designer Adam D. Tihany, creator of all Le Cirque restaurants. “Le Cirque” at Camino Real will offer the same quality and service standards as Le Cirque in New York and Las Vegas. Try the Sunday brunch, I thought it was cheap for the all the value.

Cuisine: French - Italian

Zone: Polanco (Inside Camino Real Polanco)

Phone: 5263-8888 (018009012300)

Price range: $30-100

I hope this reviews helps you, and if you have any questions please send me an e-mail to chaz@travelermidns.com

Experience a different mexico vacation this season with a trip to the placid white sand beaches of Tulum. This low profile tourist destination package is now gaining popularity by sheer word of mouth. Read this article to find out why.

Coming from a far away country, it was such a surprise to find the Mexican countryside and coast: a refresher from the busy city in which I spend my days.

One experience took us deep into the Mayan Riviera near the town of Tulum. It’s a semi-unknown wonderland where white sand beaches oddly appear to be deserted: the perfect cure to a lifetime of honking horns and fast-paced city life. Old men selling mangoes and chilies by the side of the road along with one-dollar beers that just seem to taste so much better when they’re consumed on the spot.

My first trip to Mexico was years back when I visited a Tulum hotel on more or less a whim. My wife and I had been traveling Europe for some time, but had wanted desperately to have all inclusive travel Mexico after hearing unbiased reviews beach resort about it from friends. Tulum and the surrounding villages did not disappoint.

A small hut would have done fine, but Tulum’s seemingly-out-of-place posh hotels were the icing on the cake for the two of us: we love luxury travel but understand it’s not available everywhere. We don’t mind roughing it now and again, but in Tulum, paradise seemed to be just a feet away from the crashing waves.

The sun in Tulum is warm and soothing on the skin, especially after morning dips in the ocean. Mexico’s Riviera Maya is a somewhat jagged coast backdropped by lush rainforest - a contrast many of the Tulum hotels take advantage of: being so close to both ocean and rainforest. The people in Tulum were also ultra friendly: we even bought a small native mask from a little stand for fewer than five dollars!

The owners of the hotel we stayed at were also spectacular. They had come from Europe and were so friendly. There had been recent chaos surrounding one local radio host named Gaston Alegre Lopez, but while we were there, some beaches and surroundings were as peaceful as can be.

We would go back to Tulum in a heartbeat and often recommend that friends travel Tulum as well. It’s a lush and exclusive climate for a beach resort that attracts none of the trashy Cancun crowd. We visited in the summer, and plan to get some mexico holiday packages in winter. Hopefully, things will be just as we remember …

One of the best cancun beach hotels, a handful of styled resorts have popped up in Cancun Mexico suites, following Hurricane Wilma in late 2005. The reopening of Aqua cancun inn with its 371 rooms, beat everybody expectation. Aqua hotel cancun is all about relaxation, from the moment you walk in, you experience the tranquil aromatherapy and music that captures you. Guests are able to select from among pillow types as well as aromatherapy oils and candles or you can play in cancun golf.

The location is great, excellent for walking to two shopping centers and restaurants nearby. The rooms have quality amenities and are highly maintained. The pools are well designed in cancun inclusive hotels.

But what really sets this resort in cancun mexico apart is its food. Mexico’s premier chef and well known cookbook author Martha Ortiz, elevates tacos to high art at Siete, decorated with mosaics of pop icons like Frida Kahlo. At MB, Michelle Bernstein a Miami top rated chef offers healthy and tasty dishes with Latin and Asian influences, try the filet and macaroni, it was to die for.

Aqua’s signature spa offers a wide variety of therapeutic treatments. The spa will also have a steam room modeled after the ancient Aztec temazcal. Outdoor pilates, and each morning yoga at the beach are some of the activities in cancun family vacations.

The club lounge level, is a good option, great for breath fast and for, midday snacks and evening food services with a good variety.

The Luna y Sol Suites face the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other. If you can, we definitely recommend you to book on of these Suites or look for cancun rentals.

The restaurant is o.k is not one of the best in Polanco but neither the worst, we recommend you to try the tortilla soup. If you do arrive late to the hotel, while you walk through the lobby and doing the checking you might find the lobby a little noisy, since the lobby bar sometimes gets crowded.

If you are going to Mexico City as a short stop or as a typical business trip, we definitely recommend you to considered W Hotel as an option.
We got a room with a nice view to the Promenade des Anglais.
That evening we went out for Dinner and got back to the room by 10:00 pm. Since we had flown all the way from Mexico, we both went to sleep fast!
At around 2:00 am my husband got up to the bathroom, and found out there were little animals in his shirt! He turned on the lights and we found the bed was infested with these little bugs! There were bugs all over the bed!
My husband called the reception and asked to be changed to another room, they told us there were no rooms available!
After 10 minutes, a guy showed up at the room to confirm what we were saying! He had brought insecticide! What were they thinking that we would sleep in the same room after they used this??
Anyways, after they saw all the bugs suddenly there was a room available for us, and we were moved!
We both took a shower and after checking the room was bug-free, went to bed again!
The next day, I woke up with bug bites all over my neck, arms and hands!! They were very itchy, red, and swollen!
My husband appeared to be ok, but the next day started getting the same reactions!

We went to talk to Bruno (A manager at the Hotel) he offered not to charge us for that one night, and they offered to pay for the medical expenses that could arise.
They called the Hotel Doctor so that I could be sure what my condition was, and confirm that these were harmless bites. The doctor prescribed some medicines and cream, and gave me a shot of cortisone.

We did some research on the web to try to confirm what bugs these were, because the Hotel would not even try to find out what animals they had in their Hotel´s beds! They were bedbugs, and most of the times transmit very dangerous diseases.

The Hotel said they would contact us and so far they have not!! The least we expected is that the Hotel finds out what the animal is!!
We never expected that a 400 euros per night Hotel, with the reputation of Negresco would be managed by such a team of careless and rude managers.

One thing is certain, we are never coming back to that Hotel again. No matter how many free nights they give us!!
A member of “The Leading Hotels of the World”?? Are you kidding?? The pillows are terrible, the sheets are old! etc…
We stayed at the Fairmont In Monaco the next days… that is a Leading Hotel of the World!!!Veronica Malo

San Luis Potosi, Mexico

Mr. T

It’s certainly a terrible experience, Our Traveler Minds has made some research about the cleaning of this Luxury hotel, they found out there has been many other complains about the cleanness of the hotel. We have contact the hotel manager and explained how there has been some readers complaining about the careless employees and the old curtains and carpets they have in some of their rooms. They told us they have been renovating most of the rooms and they were very disappointing for what happened to some of our readers. We are also making the complain with the “The Leading Hotels of the World” group to let them know how is the service at Negresco. We recommend our readers to make a quick search about your hotel destination and find out what other people are saying.

By Liz Boudreau

The very thought of heading for a topless beaches gives many people the shakes. For others, it is a natural occurrence and a natural consideration. If you are comfortable in your own skin, they argue, why not head out in just that skin?

There are a variety of things to consider when choosing topless beaches. Many experts say location is one factor, as you probably want some measure of privacy (and most topless beaches offer this). Other factors to consider are the age range of people who visit a nude beach (you will likely want to be with a group around your own age) and other factors that really have to do more with your own comfort level.

If you are considering heading to nude beaches, why not head for the best? Here is a list of the top 5 topless beaches, as chosen by travelerminds.

1.) Montalivet, France. This area is called the international birthplace of the naturalist movement. At this topless beaches resort, you can camp (most popular) or stay in one of the 172 bungalows. This is a family resort, so if it is in your comfort level to include the kids, you won’t be the only ones. This resort features a wide variety of classes that range from soccer to yoga and everything includes the whole family. This gives new meaning to the term ‘au naturel’!

2.) Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Famous for its many topless beaches resorts, this area of Jamaica also includes the Couples Resort, which is an excellent start for new nudists. The resort itself it not a nudist resort, but there is a beach just offshore that is for nudists. Featuring pristine beaches, private cozy nooks all around, and a cabana bar, this island is private and safe, making newbies feel comfortable in their newly-exposed skin.

3.) Wreck Island, British Columbia. This 4-mile stretch of beach is so named because a huge wrecked sea vessel once inhabited the sand. At these friendly topless beaches, you can enjoy the nesting area of the bald eagles, while knowing that civilization is just a few steps away (the University of British Columbia is just a few hundred steps above the beach). One of the most lively parts of these beaches is Vendor’s Row, where you can shop (in the nude) for souvenirs, handmade items, and other goodies (including sunscreen, which you will need in abundance).

4.) Samurai Beach, Australia. Located in Port Stephens, this topless beach backs up to the clothing-optional Bardot’s resort. At the topless beaches, you can enjoy nude volleyball, Frisbee, and tug of war. This is the spot of the famous Nude Olympics, which are held each year. Events include Nude Surfing, Nude Beach Girl and Guy Competition, and Nude Torch Relay.

5.) Hedonism II, Jamaica. Yes, laid-back Jamaica can claim 2 of the top 5 topless beaches. At this clothing-optional resort, expect a good party. There’s nude swimming, sunbathing and volleyball, as well as what the resort calls a lush garden of playful passion. Designed for playful couples and singles, the resort features a big party scene, lots of lush and delicious food, and a nude good time all around.
