Camino Real Mexico City
October 13, 2008
I have stayed in many hotels in Mexico City and my second time in Camino Real Polanco, Mexico City. Before going to the real travel reviews let ![]()
me give you some of the hotel background.
The Camino Real, Polanco mixes design and architectural elements of Mexican culture. The common areas and rooms are decorated in Mexico’s vibrant pinks, blues, yellows and natural wood that make a great combination in the décor. If you are into architecture, you can appreciate Ricardo Legorretta’s design. I personally like it, I found it spacious and cozy at the same time, but maybe not for everyone, at your arrival you might find the hotel lay-out a bit confusing.
What makes this hotel highlight from many other five star hote, is the great variety of international and famous restaurants located inside the hotel. For me these restaurants make a huge complement to my stay, either if you are going for business or for pleasure, you could consider having a romantic dinner in this hotel.
Location
The hotel is located in the Polanco area, behind the Chapultepec Park, near the Tamayo and Modern Art Museums, where you want walk nearby Chic shops and gourmet restaurants.
Adress: Mariano Escobedo 700 Colonia Nueva Anzures, 11590 Mexico CityRooms
The first time I stayed in this hotel, the room was magnificent, it had a balcony with a view to the pool. But my last stay, unfortunately it wasn’t like my first experience, they gave me a room with a street view that doesn’t compare to the main patio, the bed was very uncomfortable, you could hear the noise from the street and the furniture was dated. I think it’s kind to find bottled water in your room specialty if it’s a high quality hotel. My recommendation is; stay in the pool side rooms which seems to best choice.
Service
All the employees have great attitude towards you, they all smile to you and seen if they can help you with something.
Hotel Restaurants
Camino Real Polanco, has many bars and international restaurants that really complement your stay. Here are some short restaurant reviews of a couple.
Bice - Bistro
Bice is an Italian bistro, the same restaurant as the NYC Bice Bistro - This bistro has a sophisticated look, soft light and mahogany floors. Believe it or not this Restaurant is 24 hour open, so any time you feel for having a delicious Italian cuisine, will take you 3 min from your room.
Cuisine: American Zone: Polanco (Inside Camino Real Polanco) Phone: 52277200 (018009012300) Price range: $20-80China Grill
The same famous restaurant that is in New York, Las Vegas and Miami. The ambience of this restaurant is great, the upbeat, energetic ambience is complemented by modern music, cultural surroundings and a creative menu. Don’t forget to try the great martinis.
Cuisine: Asian, Chinese, International Zone: Polanco (Inside Camino Real Polanco) Phone: 5263-8888 (018009012300) Price range: $10-80 For reservations : 555-263-8887Le cirque
The whole design of Le Cirque in Mexico belongs to architect and interior designer Adam D. Tihany, creator of all Le Cirque restaurants. “Le Cirque” at Camino Real will offer the same quality and service standards as Le Cirque in New York and Las Vegas. Try the Sunday brunch, I thought it was cheap for the all the value.
Cuisine: French - Italian Zone: Polanco (Inside Camino Real Polanco) Phone: 5263-8888 (018009012300) Price range: $30-100I hope this reviews helps you, and if you have any questions please send me an e-mail to chaz@travelermidns.com
Tour to Aqua, Cancun inclusive hotels
August 7, 2008
One of the best cancun beach hotels, a handful of styled resorts have popped up in Cancun Mexico suites, following Hurricane Wilma in late 2005. The reopening of Aqua cancun inn with its 371 rooms, beat everybody expectation. Aqua hotel cancun is all about relaxation, from the moment you walk in, you experience the tranquil aromatherapy and music that captures you. Guests are able to select from among pillow types as well as aromatherapy oils and candles or you can play in cancun golf.
The location is great, excellent for walking to two shopping centers and restaurants nearby. The rooms have quality amenities and are highly maintained. The pools are well designed in cancun inclusive hotels.
But what really sets this resort in cancun mexico apart is its food. Mexico’s premier chef and well known cookbook author Martha Ortiz, elevates tacos to high art at Siete, decorated with mosaics of pop icons like Frida Kahlo. At MB, Michelle Bernstein a Miami top rated chef offers healthy and tasty dishes with Latin and Asian influences, try the filet and macaroni, it was to die for.
Aqua’s signature spa offers a wide variety of therapeutic treatments. The spa will also have a steam room modeled after the ancient Aztec temazcal. Outdoor pilates, and each morning yoga at the beach are some of the activities in cancun family vacations.
The club lounge level, is a good option, great for breath fast and for, midday snacks and evening food services with a good variety.
The Luna y Sol Suites face the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other. If you can, we definitely recommend you to book on of these Suites or look for cancun rentals.
Just remember to have fun because it goes by fast!!!

Located in the trendy Polanco neighborhood has modern dress up but maybe not for everyone taste. Stunning guest rooms and with seductive spaces will make your stay very comfortable.
Have lunch at the terrace and enjoy the nice and large outdoor area with overlooking parts of Polanco. The restaurant is o.k is not one of the best in Polanco but neither the worst, we recommend you to try the tortilla soup. If you do arrive late to the hotel, while you walk through the lobby and doing the checking you might find the lobby a little noisy, since the lobby bar sometimes gets crowded.
If you are going to Mexico City as a short stop or as a typical business trip, we definitely recommend you to considered W Hotel as an option.
La Casa que Canta, Ixtapa
March 27, 2008
A Romantic resort-
We wanted to visit la Casa que Canta for a while, and last week we had the opportunity to visit and experience it.
This small luxury hotel in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo-Mexico, stands ingeniously sculpted on a cliff with magnificent panoramic views. Built from native materials and decorates with fine hand-crafted Mexican furniture.
La Casa que Canta, “The house that sings” name given for the sound that the sea waves creates with the cliff that surrounds the hotel area. We were greeted with a wonderful floral arrangement on our bed as well as a couple of shots of tequila. In its 25 deluxe suites the magnificent view can be appreciated, the suites are very spacious and all decorated with a nice Mexican charm, 11 of which have private pools, definitely the private-pool was the best part of the room. The wonderful sunset can be enjoyed from the infinity pool which you may recognize from the movie “When a Man Loves a Woman”. The resort has its own sea-water pool and two luxurious residences by the beach - El Murmullo and El Ensueño.The restaurant with its Mexican will surprised you with the great flavors and color of each dish. We recommend you to try the succulent ceviche (fish or shellfish marinated in lemon or orange juice, onion and Mexican pepper) also try the fresh fruit desserts.
The hotel restaurant Mexican cuisine the hotel restaurant There are a few stairs, so if you have knee problems, might want to think about it, otherwise we are sure La casa que Canta will achieve all your expectations, in a few days stay it will make you feel younger, with more energy and also will open eyes and the way of appreciate the beautiful views as it did to us.
